Introducing The Wholesome Diet

I want to focus on quality and heart - providing my family and followers with recipes for a wholesome life!

I’m Gabi and I’ve been married 11 years to my husband, Pete. We have a 3 year old boy and I am the creator of The Wholesome Diet. My husband works as a pilot, and our calendar can be unpredictable. Half of my days are spent with my son, running errands, playing at the park, cooking and enjoying our home. The other half of my days we happily soak up quality time as a family unit, minimizing distractions as much as possible. Needless to say, our routine flip flops and plans can change at any given moment. I tend to keep home life loosely structured.

I created The Wholesome Diet because of my own personal experiences with health and sensitivities to the environment. I want to build a community of people interested in a healing and wholesome lifestyle.

I plan to go in depth in future blogs, but I’ll highlight what led me to this point. Growing up, I had a difficult relationship with food that is probably relatable to most of you, especially women. In my late 20’s, I experienced a significant transformation on a paleo diet. For a few years, I really struggled with histamine intolerance systems.

When my son was only a month old, we realized he had serious food intolerances (eczema, gastrointestinal, and mood symptoms). I was breastfeeding and ended up eliminated corn, dairy and soy, which did the trick! I’ve since learned how to make food nutritious and toddler friendly, as we are still living with these intolerances to date (as well as an egg allergy).

The biggest factor contributing to this venture is my faith in God and a Jesus. Christianity is not the primary focus of my platform, but I will always give glory and recognition where it is due. God has blessed me with the inspiration, strength and mental clarity to put myself out into the world more publicly. I would not have the confidence or drive, if I didn’t feel so grounded in my foundation with Him.

If nothing else results in my ambitious here, I hope that I am able to learn more for myself and my family. But if we’re really reaching for the stars, my big mission is to serve my community. I want to make a wholesome lifestyle feel more accessible in a society that is overly focused on personal desires and convenience. I hope to provide the type of useful tidbits that can be passed down from one generation to another… to gift our children health and prosperity. The Wholesome Diet will be a bright light in your day. I hope you will follow along! God Bless.
